Easter favors for the table for Easter dinner

Easter favors for the table for Easter dinner

Happy Easter everyone!!! We a joyous day despite the weather….morning service outside, Easter basket and egg hunt and a little bocci ball.
Everytime I am with my family, I always like to make a little favor for the table. I have been seeing a lot of these cute boxes made with the tag topper punch and I wanted to make some myself.IMG_3041I had made these a few weeks ago for Teacher Appreciation week at my son’s school and they were a big success. For Easter I only had to make 17 instead of 117. I just love the Sweet Sorbet DSP that was a free gift during Sale-A-Bration. The colors in the paper just screamed “spring”. I will definitely be making more of these boxes in the future…

I have some really exciting news……

Starting TOMORROW….Monday, April 21st….Stampin’ Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING on all items until Friday, April 25th!!! This is the first time that the company has offered free shipping on all products…not just paper, not just stamps…but EVERYTHING!!! You definitely do not want to miss out on this great deal….

ALSO….the retired list is coming out tomorrow!!!! You will want to stock up on products that are being discontinued/retiring…once they are gone, they are gone!!! Go to the Stampin’ UP! website to see the retired list and start ordering!!!!

Spiral Flowers Galore!!!

A variety of flowers created by the spiral flower die

A variety of flowers created by the spiral flower die

When I first tried out the new Spiral Flower Die from SU! I was not happy with the results. I really didn’t understand the directions that came with the die so I took to the web, especially pinterest, to find out how to create the flowers. After a little bit of research I was able to start creating with confidence….thank goodness for youtube videos!!!!

The two items you need to help you create the flowers is a bone folder and a glue gun. The bone folder helps you break down the fibers of the paper so it becomes more pliable. As I started to get more and more comfortable making them, I just wanted to continue to make more and more. I just love how my first of many flowers to come came out….

Using two flowers together will make them bigger. I used summer starfruit coordinations paper and really liked the results. I sanded the paper after I ran it through the big shot. By sanding the paper, it gave a softness to the flower.
I hope you decide to create spiral flowers and feel a sense of happiness as much as I did. Enjoy!!!

Going for the Gold

One of the FREE gifts you can pick during Sale-A-Bration

One of the FREE gifts you can pick during Sale-A-Bration

The Olympics are going on right now and I have been watching every minute of it. I decided to go with the gold and create the cards in the Good As Gold Simply Sent Kit. Gold is huge right now and it’s just not in the Olympics. Included in this kit are gold envelope liners that add just that special touch to these cards. The sentiments have not only “thank you” and “for you”, they also include “danke”, “merci”, “pour toi” and “fur dich”. I love that you have other options than just the English language.
This kit is one of the FREE products you can receive with your $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration time going on right now through March 31st.
I had a card class last week and had 12 ladies come over. They had a blast! We made 4 cards and a good time was had by all. They were definitely going for the gold on their card making abilities.
Thanks goes out to my neighbor and good friend Paulette who made this class possible. She has been a great hostess for the past few classes.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day Card In a Box

Happy V-Day Everyone!!!!  I wanted to make another card in a box and what better way to create one for this very special day.  I made this for my husband and he loved it.  I really had fun using different stamps and hearts to create this card using real red, coastal cabana and crumb cake as my color palate.  I used the heart framelits from the hearts a flutter framelits set and other hearts from the hearts framelits.  I like how I was able to do a layering effect with the hearts.

tag punch candy box

I have also seen a lot of these boxes made with the tag topper punch which is one of the new punches SU! offers.  It is so easy to use and these boxes are really easy to make.  Here are the instructions…..

Take a piece of 2″x 6 1/4″ of card stock and score at 3″ and 4″.  Then cut 2 pieces of 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ card stock and score at 1/4″ on either side of the card stock for each piece.  Use tombow glue or sticky strip to adhere the 1 1/4″ pcs to the strip of tagged card stock.  Design the outside of the box to your liking.  I used a strip of 1 1/4″ x 6″ fresh prints designer paper and scored it at 1″, 2″, 4″ and 5″ to go around the box.  These boxes are very addicting to make so beware!!!!

When I was at Leadership a lot of new products were introduced to us.  It was so exciting to see the products in the flesh.  One of the new products introduced is the new Personalized Stamps.  These stamps can be customized the way you want them.  Click HERE to see how you can order the stamps.  I am not just going to order one but several for my children and my business.  These photopolymer stamps are good and sticky so they adhere well to the acrylic blocks.  They also clean very well and last forever.

Are you on Pinterest?  If you are I would love for you to follow me and in return I would love to follow you.  You can leave your link to your Pinterest page in the comment section for me so I can follow you.  Lately, I have been seeing a lot of  “card in a box” cards and fell in love with them.  At first I was very intimidated.  I thought they would be really hard to make.  Boy was I wrong!!!!  I have a card in a box board on Pinterest and there are directions I pinned on my board.  Today I decided to try my hand at this magnificent card and this is what I came up with….

Card In A Box BirthdayMy brother’s birthday is coming up and I wanted to send him a card.  This 3D card is perfect.  It folds to fit in a regular A2 size envelope for mailing. If you decide to embellish you card more then you might need to add extra postage.  I used the Another Great Year and Big Wish stamp sets  and the Retro Fresh Designer Paper Series from the  Occasional Catalog.  The card base is baked brown sugar cardstock.  -3

I hope you will jump on the card in a box bandwagon and join me!!!  I can’t wait to see what you have created!!!

Watercolor Wonderful

watercolor wonderful cards

I love to watercolor!!!! I find it soothing after a long day. The watercolor wonder designer note cards and envelopes (133362) paired with peaceful petals stamp set (wood-133104, clear-133107) makes for “wonder”flu cards…pardon the pun.

Some of you might be thinking that I am not creative enough to watercolor. I say “NO WAY!!!” By using the aqua painter (103954) the world is your oyster!!!!

Here are the basics to watercoloring…
1) Use a good watercolor paper…our watercolor paper (122959) I find to be the best. To stamp the images without bleeding, you need to use a permanent ink pad…Black Staz-On ink (101406).
2) Press the closed lid of a Classic Stampin’ Pad down against the inked pad, then open the lid. Use a blender pen, Aqua Painter or damp watercolor brush to lift the ink from the small pool of color in the lid and apply to stamped image.
3) To shadow the image, I just used smoky slate with the aqua painter and watercolored around the image

With just a few products and a brush you can create beautiful cards that recipients would love to receive. Right now is a perfect time to order these products….with every $50 you spend you receive a FREE gift during Sale-A-Bration.
Go HERE to download the catalog to see all the FREE products being offered now through March 31st. You can always place an order 24/7 by going to my SU! website
I will be offering a watercolor class at the end of the month so if you are in the Savannah area I would love for you to join me!!!
